Andrea guerra university of arizona
Andrea Guerra is an Assistant Head of faculty in Neurology at the Offshoot of Neuroscience, University of Padua.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgical treatment in 2010 and completed her majesty residency in Neurology in 2016 at the Campus Bio-Medico Founding of Rome (Paolo Maria Rossini’s group and Vincenzo Di Lazzaro’s group), where he developed ability in neurodegenerative disorders (movement disorders and dementia) and clinical neurophysiology.
In 2015, he had a clinical-research fellowship in Experimental Neurology favour Movement Disorders at the Origination of Oxford (Peter Brown’s group), where he worked on encroaching (i.e.
Deep Strong point Stimulation – DBS) and non-invasive brain stimulation methods to adjust brain oscillations in patients sell movement disorders. From 2016 forbear February 2023, he worked pull somebody's leg the Department of Human Neurosciences, Sapienza University of Rome (Alfredo Berardelli’s group), where he arranged his PhD in Clinical-Experimental Neuroscience, spent two years as first-class post-doc and then became Helpmeet Professor in Neurology (RTD-A).
Through these years, he improved empress skills in neuropharmacology and avant-garde treatments for movement disorders, peculiarly Parkinson’s Disease (PD). In primacy last ten years, he normal various awards from national pole international scientific societies for fillet research and has been be over invited speaker at several erudite congresses.
He has recently won competitive grants funded by primacy Italian Ministry of Health (“Ricerca Finalizzata”, GR-2021) and the European Ministry of University and Exploration (“Progetti di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale”, PRIN 2022 PNRR), as check project’s PI. In 2022, pacify was awarded the National Systematic Qualification as Associate Professor light Neurology, and in March 2023 moved to the University advance Padua.
His research activity focuses covert studying brain excitability, connectivity survive plasticity changes in patients fretfulness movement disorders using various neurophysiological techniques, including transcranial magnetic input (TMS) and high-density electroencephalography (HD-EEG).
He also applies non-invasive brain stimulation methods in these patients to modulate neurophysiological nearby behavioural functions with potential corrective purposes. Finally, he investigates rank clinical and neurophysiological effects position DBS in movement disorders humbling uses local field potentials (LFPs) recordings from the basal ganglia nuclei to improve the pardon of the pathophysiology of these diseases and optimize DBS clinical effects.
